very monsoon, the Brahmaputra rewrites the map of Assam's char (river-island) villages — and every year, it's the children who pay the steepest price. Homes are swept away, school bags are lost in the water, and thousands of students arrive at school with no shoes, no bags, and no dry place to keep their books.
As part of Phase 2 of Greensole Foundation Flood Relief effort, we're focusing this Daan Utsav on Jawaharlal Nehru High School, located in the flood-affected revenue village of Nabagata Simlitola. This school alone accounts for 843 students — one of the largest student populations recorded in our flood-relief beneficiary data for the region — many of whom lost footwear, bags, and study material to the floods.
